“No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.”— Article I, Section 10, Clause 3, US Constitution
Greetings, everyone. I pray y’all had a really nice weekend. I had the pleasure of spending time with folks in San Antonio, Boerne, Austin County, Rosenberg, and addressed the Young America’s Foundation student leaders’ conference. And, somewhere in the middle of a very well-traveled weekend, we had the time and pleasure to hold a private wedding ceremony for our youngest daughter, Austen.
As I travel the Lone Star State, endeavoring to be your next Governor, meeting with you, and hearing your concerns, there is one word that comes up consistently: sovereignty.
Sovereignty is defined as “supreme power or authority; the authority of a state to govern itself or another state; a self-governing state.” The theme of our campaign is “Defending the Texas Republic” because, yes, Texas is a sovereign state and is granted enumerated powers as such from our rule of law, our US Constitution. However, regardless of the issues surrounding the power grid, property taxes, education, critical race theory, and protecting our children from being murdered in the womb and subjected to chemical and physical castrations, one issue is vital to the survival of Texas: sovereignty.
What is the impetus behind the concern on this issue? It is simple: a wide-open 1,254 mile Texas border with a foreign nation that is controlled by transnational narco-criminal terrorists. In the face of what our Founding Fathers described in our Constitution as an “invasion,” Texas is being abandoned by the weak, feckless, and unprincipled elected officials who are taking unconstitutional actions, or no actions at all, save only chest-bumping and posturing.
Last week during an interview on the Chris Salcedo radio program I broached the subject of impeaching Joe Biden. Think about it: the progressive socialist left impeached former President Donald Trump, twice, on insidious nonsense that was never supported by any evidence. All this supposed Russian collusion and a doggone phone call with Ukraine. Now, we have Joe Biden who unconstitutionally, by Executive Order, has implemented an open-borders, progressive, socialist, leftist ideological agenda that violates his “supposed” oath of office. Biden is aiding and abetting some of the most immoral actions of this era — drug, human, and sex trafficking. The federal government has abdicated its constitutional duty and responsibility to protect the sovereignty of these United States, and primarily that of Texas.
The US Border Patrol here in Texas has been told that they are only to do illegal immigrant processing, not patrol. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has been told they cannot deport illegals. Truth be told, this constitutes treason, and certainly is consistent with the “high crimes and misdemeanors” threshold in our constitution for impeachment.
So, why have articles of impeachment on Biden and Harris not been introduced?
As well, here in Texas, our very own Governor Abbott runs about, as I witnessed in Austin County, touting that he is having illegal immigrants arrested and is building a border wall. Actually, it is a chain-link fence, and illegals are being arrested for trespassing — supposedly 10 so far, as he has stated — a third-degree misdemeanor which means they will be released in 3-6 months.
As well, Governor Abbott has issued an order to Texas DPS to not impede the movement of illegal immigrant “families.” Governor Abbott, as the Governor of the sovereign state of Texas, is doing nothing to protect the sovereignty of the Lone Star State. The aforementioned quote from the Constitution provides him the enumerated power to take action. Additionally, the Tenth Amendment addresses those powers that are reserved to the States, and to the People.
The very disconcerting deduction is that we have charlatans in Joe Biden and Greg Abbott who are aiding and abetting drug, human, and sex trafficking. I have yet to hear Governor Abbott address the fact that Texas is the number one state in America for human and sex trafficking. Somehow that did not make it into his self-congratulatory speech Saturday afternoon in Austin County.Texans must stop allowing skilled politicians to "blow sunshine up their butts," making them feel warm inside when we are facing a chilling and dangerous invasion. –LTC @AllenWest #bordercrisis Click To Tweet
No, Texans, there is no provision to do as Californians are in recalling their governor. But, what Texans must do is stop allowing skilled politicians to “blow sunshine up their butts,” making them feel warm inside when we are facing a chilling and dangerous invasion. See the latest numbers here.
Texans are being told they will be fired from their employment if they do not get a COVID shot, yet illegal immigrants are flooding into Texas with COVID and not being mandated to take a shot. This is a healthcare crisis — as I warned — and Biden and Abbott are complicit due to their inaction.
How sad it must be for legal, law-abiding Texans, citizens, to be told they have no sovereign authority over their bodies, but illegal immigrants do.
Now is not the time for litigation and lawsuits. When you are being invaded, it is time for action. It is time to “Defend the Texas Republic,” and safeguard our citizens, and our authority as a self-governing State. A Governor West will never beg for permission of the federal government to protect the sovereignty of Texas and its citizens. Warriors take action, you can watch our interview with Steve Bannon articulating our actions, not litigation, as it appears we have someone who is fearful of taking action currently in the position.
Sir Winston Churchill once stated, “fear is a reaction, courage is a decision.” Let’s decide to display the courage to defend Texas.
Steadfast and Loyal,
Col. Allen B. West (Ret.)
