The world has never had a good definition of the word liberty, and the American people, just now, are much in want of one. We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name—liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names—liberty and tyranny.

— President Abraham Lincoln

“Freedom” is such a simple word, but at this moment in America it is under firm assault. This past Friday evening I watched one of my all time favorite movies, the Academy award winning film “Braveheart.” The essence of the movie was all about freedom, in this case for the people of Scotland from the tyranny of England. This time watching the movie took on a very different meaning for me, since we are facing a tyranny of our own here in America.

It was just last Monday that I was released from Medical City Hospital, Plano, after being hospitalized for 48 hours due to COVID. There were many who fretted over the fact that I had been admitted to the hospital. Needless to say, they were very nervous about potential bad outcomes, and based upon anecdotal evidence, rightfully so. However, after being diagnosed with COVID the previous Saturday, Angela and I made the decision to undergo alternative treatments. These alternatives did wonders and were highly successful, I just had to get my oxygen saturation levels up due to traces of COVID pneumonia. Thanks to treatments of Budesonide nebulizer, that happened quickly and my chest x-ray was clear a week ago, leading to my release.

Now, when first admitted, the doctor did mention Remdesivir, which I immediately rejected. As well, I was taking natural protocols such as vitamin C and D3 along with zinc. And, yes, upon release from the hospital I did receive Ivermectin in the mail, which I now take once every other week. Do I hold the record for fastest COVID recovery? I tested positive on a Saturday, and was negative on the following Wednesday. I am back to my running routine of 4-5 miles, though, yes, I started out first with 1.5 miles. The bottom line to all of this: there has never been a COVID vaccine injection into my body.

So, why all this mania about forcing people to take a vaccine?

Let’s have an honest conversation. COVID is not a disease, it is a virus, and we live with viruses every day of our lives. Here in Texas we have a population of some 29 million, and the most recent numbers are 4.17 million reported cases of COVID in Texas with 69,017 deaths. Of course, there is a difference between dying with something and because of something. We do know that there are several co-morbidities that enhance the possibility of losing your life due to COVID complications: obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. I actually find it rather perplexing that we talk very little about flu deaths, or deaths attributed to these historically deadly medical conditions.

So, why are we being driven like sheep to the slaughter over a virus that has a nearly 99.98 percent recovery rate? Why do we have this usurpation of our medical freedom by government bureaucrats, politicians, and woke corporate fascist oligarchs?

It is highly disturbing that here in Texas we have these so-called business associations that believe they have a right to mandate vaccinations over a virus with a near 100 percent recovery rate, as a condition of employment. These are the new feudal lords much the same as I watched in the movie “Braveheart.” Then they were called “nobles,” today they are crony corporate officials. And, we have ceded far too much power and authority to these woke corporate fascists who go about purchasing politicians with their campaign contributions. Think about how an 11-year-old boy froze to death this past February, in Conroe, Texas, in his bed. Yet, an energy company somehow makes $2.5 billion during this travesty. And, the sitting Governor receives a $1 million campaign contribution from the same company? How does that work?

We have elected officials, state agencies, and bureaucrats, here in Texas, who have blood on their hands by restricting and denying viable medical protocols from Texans. Why? — @AllenWest Click To Tweet

Our so called elected officials end up being bought and paid for by corporate interests. No one should be aligning themselves with the Biden administration on his lawless endeavor to dictate conditions for our medical freedom.

It is unconscionable to me to hear that these crony capitalists believe that it is “unprecedented” to not allow them to dictate terms of medical freedom for their employees. The real unprecedented aspect of all this are the corporations that believe they possess the power to dictate the freedom we have over our bodies.

Funny, I have not heard any of these Texas business associations and corporations complaining about illegal immigrants entering Texas without any shot in the arm?

We are facing an unprecedented constitutional crisis in America centered around the word “freedom.” The petty usurper, Joe Biden, had the unmitigated gall to state that this is not about our individual freedom, as he announced his unconstitutional edict and mandate, ordering Americans to take a vaccine. All the while, these progressive socialist leftists, and Republican accomplices, hinder our freedom to choose other medical protocols for our bodies.

There is nothing logical or reasonable about any of this, except it is more of the age old objective of totalitarians: control. We are being fear-mongered into surrendering our very first unalienable right: life. What is even more disturbing is that we have elected officials, state agencies, and bureaucrats here in Texas who have blood on their hands by restricting and denying viable medical protocols from Texans. Why?

The answer is simple: human nature is flawed and will always seek advantage over others. We are not serfs and subjects. We are citizens!

Steadfast and Loyal,

Lt. Col. Allen B. West (Ret.)
