Backing the Blue, Texas Style!

We all know that folks are fleeing California and heading to greener pastures, and one of those fertile lands is the Lone Star State of Texas. We welcome folks to Texas, but we also wanna make sure they respect and honor that which has made Texas, well, Texas. Texas is all about rugged individualism, a swagger that results in making victors, not victims. But, sadly, for some odd reason, the insidious failing message of progressive socialism, collective subjugation to the central determination of outcomes, has infected the Lone Star State.

But, I remain steadfast and loyal, and greatly hopeful, that there will be a restoration of the Texas spirit. We will see the radicalism of the left soundly defeated here in Texas, and I wanna share one reason why. We have been sharing stories about folks moving into Texas, here is another one.

As reported by Law Officer:

“Retired California cops are fleeing the Golden State in droves. I know, because I am one of them. Upon retirement my wife and I sold our home, packed the U-haul, loaded the dogs and moved to Texas. Our daughter and her family had previously relocated, so that motivated us. But ongoing state politics made the decision easy. Moreover, I personally know dozens of others who have done likewise. My retired law enforcement peers have primarily relocated to Texas, Idaho, Montana, and Arizona.

The biggest issues for leaving California continue to be degradation in the quality of life and over-burdensome taxes. Does this sound similar, New Yorkers? I’ve heard much the same from your end of the country.

The quality of life issues are experienced firsthand by police officers. Dealing with rampant drug use, unabated crime, and diseases spread through mass homelessness is sickening. Furthermore, local and state policies that reduce or eliminate consequences have created a system that profits criminal activity and promotes laziness by getting attached to the public trough.

Sadly, we left behind two sons who’ve since married and are trying to make their way. As a result, we frequently visit California. While I miss lifelong friends and family, not to mention our appreciation of the year-round fabulous weather, I do not miss the “junk” created by failed policies and deceptive laws, which favor the criminal element.

I recently met a friend who is a retired California law enforcement officer for lunch at a trendy location near my home. She and her retired DEA husband recently moved from the Bay Area to Texas.

“Did you find a place to park,” I asked, due to the crowded area in which we met.

“Are you kidding,” she replied. “The no-cost parking structure was clean. I didn’t need to step over a homeless person or get accosted by an aggressive panhandler. And the elevator didn’t smell like p*ss and sh** . . . Yeah, no problem; easiest public parking I’ve seen in years.”

Since moving to Texas I have heard hundreds of horror stories from California cops fighting against a state system that is unexplainably favorable to abhorrent behavior; to the degree that middle-class Californians are fed up and seeking a better quality of life elsewhere.

Our first three years in Texas were spent in a rural part of Collin County—about an hour north of Dallas. “What do you like about it, Dad,” my youngest son asked during a phone conversation.

I held my cellphone up toward the sky and inquired, “Can you hear that?”

“Hear what?” he replied.

“Exactly, you don’t hear a siren do you?” I said.

“I haven’t heard a siren in two years while living on this property. Moreover, I haven’t been aggressively approached by a vagrant . . .  and we don’t have graffiti.”

Well, I guess that says it all? But, what is amazing is that those same leftist policies that drove this retired law enforcement officer from California are taking root in places in Texas. Here in Dallas and Dallas County the former mayor and his corrupt city council so mismanaged the law enforcement and first responder pension programs that a bailout from the State of Texas was needed. As well, recruiting and the rolls of the Dallas Police Department are not the best. On top of that, new Dallas County DA, Jon Cruezot, has publicly declared that he will not prosecute criminal activity that results in property loss of $750 or less. Yep, a fella clocks you on the head and takes $500, they walk free, no prosecution.

I know the other retired law enforcement officer mentioned the state of the no cost parking structure. Good thing she was talking about Collin County, which has its own issues with the spread of leftist locusts, and not Austin Texas, or even downtown Dallas. Even here in Texas, we are finding the failures of California homeless policies taking root in the Lone Star State. Many would offer that Austin Texas, capital of the state, resembles San Francisco more than a capital city of Texas…and I have been accosted by homeless vagrants downtown. And it is starting to have an adverse effect on businesses.

Texas loves its law enforcement officers, well, real Texans do. Here in Texas, if an elected official disrespects a fallen law enforcement officer, such as California Governor Gavin Newsom did with slain Officer Ronil Singh, they will be publicly shamed. We here in Texas do not embrace innocent American women being gunned down by a five-time deported criminal illegal immigrant, as in the case with Kate Steinle. Here in Texas, we do not allow sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants, placing our law enforcement officers in tough situations.

We “Back the Blue” here in Texas and those who do not risk drawing the ire of real Texans. So, all y’all come on down to Texas, and leave a note on your door, just as the saying used to be back in the 1820s and 1830s: “GTT;” or “Gone to Texas.”

All you good conservatives from all over the country, tell those progressive socialists, just as Davy Crockett did, “May you all go to hell, I am going to Texas.”

The Californication of Texas

God’s blessings y’all, and what a fantastic Veterans Day yesterday! Well, except for the snowflakes at the University of Virginia who disrespected and dishonored our fallen heroes by canceling the 21-gun salute to honor them. Ya just gotta ask, when will adults step up and tell these whiny little kids to grow up? What an utter embarrassment! Then again, Virginia is now run by the progressive socialist left.

Speaking of a state that is an embarrassment, run by the leftist incompetence.

Some would say it is a broken record, but if we do not continue to hammer the point, it will be forgotten. To what am I referring? Well, the June 2019 article in The Economist called “Texafornia,” where the premise was that the future of these United States of America will come down to either the path of California or the way of Texas.

Those of us who reside in the Lone Star State see exactly what is happening. Texas is a victim of its own success in that so many businesses, corporations and people are fleeing failed economic states like the not-so-Golden State, Illinois, New York, and New Jersey. As we profiled a conservative California couple last week, some are moving for all the proper reasons, economic growth, opportunity, prosperity. That couple who moved to McKinney Texas had enough of the progressive socialist, central economic policies of the left coast, and fled. As a matter of fact, states like California and the others are bleeding population, and there were even rumors about California implementing an Exit Tax!

There is an age-old adage that says, when you find yourself in a deep hole, stop digging. That maxim has been lost on the delusional stuck on stupid legislators in California.

As reported by the Sacramento Bee:

“Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti on Wednesday announced he’s backing a campaign to raise taxes on business properties in California, joining powerful unions in supporting a proposal that would raise money for schools and local governments. The proposed ballot measure would change the state’s 1978 law known as Proposition 13, which limited property taxes by basing them on value at purchase, as opposed to current assessed value.

The so-called split roll proposal Garcetti is backing would undo that protection for business properties worth more than $3 million and instead tax them on current value. Garcetti says the proposal has appropriate exemptions to protect homeowners and small businesses from tax hikes. The Legislative Analyst’s Office estimates it would generate $7.5 billion to $12 billion each year.

“I am proud to strongly support the Schools & Communities First campaign, which prioritizes our kids and communities over corporate tax loopholes,” he said in a written statement released by the campaign. “It’s time we had the resources needed to invest in thriving schools, safe neighborhoods and vital local services that benefit all Californians.”

Business groups have come out swinging against the proposal, which they argue doesn’t protect small businesses and will force them to raise costs. “The split roll property tax measure will be a sledgehammer to brick and mortar retail and will harm working families across California as it will drive up costs for the goods and services we buy every day,” California Retailers Association President Rachel Michelin said in a written statement last month. “This measure will make our state even more unaffordable and hurt all Californians.”

The typical progressive socialist response to any problem — of their own making — is to raise taxes. Now, we have shared with y’all the fact that California has the nation’s highest state income taxes at 13 percent. California also has the highest state poverty level at 20 percent, and I do not think that poverty number includes the homeless and illegal immigrants. So, with all the problems facing Los Angeles, what is the solution? Raise taxes on businesses, especially small businesses? This is no different from the insidious proposal from the Seattle City Council of a Head Tax. Yes, an additional tax on each employee in corporations that are worth a certain amount, I believe over $10M in revenues. That was such a “brilliant” idea that even Jeff Bezos of Amazon put the kibosh on that idea.

Let this be a warning to those of us in Texas, where we have no state income tax . . . yet we had to vote on a constitutional amendment to solidify that. Reason being, far too many leftist legislators infecting Texas. In Texas, we do have property taxes, and you can bet that if the progressive socialist left makes any gains in the Texas State House, “Katie Bar the Door,” this foolishness will come our way.

Just think about it, maybe Garcetti and his ilk in Los Angeles should stop giving taxpayer free benefits to illegal immigrants? I mean who can take this statement seriously,

Really? Whenever the left wants to pick hardworking taxpayers’ pockets, they say it all goes to schools. And yet the schools under the administration of the progressive socialist left continue to fail . . . look at any major urban center in America, most of which are under Democrat (socialist) control.

Y’all hear that? Yep, that is the sound of more U-Haul vans, trailers, and trucks loading up and heading out of California. But, to those fleeing this failed state, please, remember why you left where you were . . . and why you came to a place of economic empowerment and promise.

As we head into 2020, there has never been a more clear delineation of the choice that we have in America. And the lunacy of California is being echoed in the economic plans of the Democrat [Socialist] presidential candidates…wealth tax? Yes, to the left, the tax code is nothing more than a weapon of mass destruction, and a means to institute their ideological agenda.

I humbly ask y’all to engage your kids when they come home for Thanksgiving. We need to flush out their brains that have been poisoned by the mind-numbing leftist rhetoric of college and university professors. Give your kids this quote, and discuss it with them over the holiday season, “Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.”

Raising property taxes in order to “invest” in local government? Boy, that is dumb. That is California, and we do not want our Texas to be Californicated!

Liberty or Death: One State Chose the Latter

This past week’s elections were quite telling, especially in Virginia. Consider this: the state that gave us Patrick Henry, who spoke the immortal words in the title of this missive, chose death. Yes, this week Virginia joined another founding state, Massachusetts, in surrendering to the tyranny of progressive socialism. Those two states were the bedrocks in our fight for liberty and the establishment of these United States of America. Now, it appears they are the poster child for anti-Constitutionalism. Imagine how Mark Levin must have felt waking up Wednesday morning?

So, what contributed to the defeat in Virginia that has allowed the left to ascend to power?

As reported by CNBC:

“A gun-control lobbying group funded largely by billionaire Michael Bloomberg just helped Democrats take over the state government in Virginia – right in the National Rifle Association’s backyard.

In Tuesday’s elections, the Democrats tipped the Virginia House and Senate in their favor, giving them full control of the state government for the first time since 1994. The election had stronger-than-usual turnout in the suburbs, according to media reports.

While the results could be a good omen for Democrats’ chances in 2020, it may also be a tipping point in the money battle over gun rights. Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun-control advocacy group that the former New York mayor helps fund, spent $2.5 million this year to influence voters in Virginia versus approximately $300,000 by the NRA, which has its headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia.

“In the past, the NRA has had its way with lawmakers because it was considered powerful and wealthy, and that has dynamic changed drastically — even within the last year,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, which is part of Everytown.

The NRA, in a statement, said “Virginians are about to experience life under a distant tycoon’s thumb,” referring to Bloomberg. “Candidates who proudly accepted Bloomberg’s cash — and every voter they misled — will soon realize the cost of being beholden to a Manhattan billionaire who despises Virginians’ right to self-defense,” the organization said.”

I believe that the internal issues of the NRA have evidenced itself in the political arena already. My assessment is that we will soon see Bloomberg’s Everytown and Moms Demand Action organizations making appearances here in the Lone Star State. There is no doubt that Bloomberg’s despotic gun control agenda will hit Texas, especially in the suburbs. But, it will be here that they meet a stiff resistance.

Texas is number one in the country for human and sex trafficking, and we do indeed have an issue with criminal illegal immigrants . . . drug cartels and gangs. For these folks to believe that they can “snow” Texans into surrendering their 2nd amendment right is ludicrous, but we all know they are going to try. They will use recent shootings as a vehicle to convince people here in Texas, since many are moving in from progressive socialist states, that the answer is gun control. And that is why it is perplexing to have the Texas Lieutenant Governor adopting the language of the left when it comes to the 2nd Amendment and our right to self-defense.

We are seeing more crime and violence in Texas urban centers thanks to the insidious leftist policies. Such as the one of Dallas County DA, Jon Creuzot, who does not press charges unless the crime involves theft of over $750. So, local criminals are emboldened to whack you over the head for $749 or less, knowing they will not face jail time . . . simply brilliant. In Austin, the burgeoning homeless situation is making being downtown after hours quite dangerous, especially for women.

But, these facts will not stop ol’ do as I say Bloomberg from bringing his gun control show to Texas. After all, it was Hugo Chavez who terminated and banned, private gun ownership as a means to curtail gun violence . . . so that now the only violence is that of the government against disarmed, starving, Venezuelans who were once citizens, now they are just subjects.

Yes, there are other strong Second Amendment organizations such as Gun Owners for America (GoA), National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), and the Second Amendment Institute (SAI), but they do not collectively have the horsepower to stand against the withering assault that will come from Bloomberg’s gun control cronies, aided by a complicit media. Yes, here in Texas we do have the Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) with whom I am a Life Benefactor Member. But, they will also be hard pressed.

So, what is the answer? Yes, a strong Republican Party of Texas that has the resources to strike first, go on offense, and put Bloomberg and his flying monkeys on defense. That has to start right now! We need to have Governor Greg Abbott call for a special legislative session and ensure we have strong 2nd Amendment protections in Texas, part of the conservative Lone Star Agenda.

My concern is that the National Rifle Association, with its internal turmoil, is not going to be a serious player in 2020. We do not need to cry over that, just accept it and move out into this seminal fight for individual liberty. Virginians are about to feel the sting. I would recommend that in Virginia, as with us here in Texas, and elsewhere, we start doing County by County 2nd Amendment sanctuary Counties. Let the left know that they will not advance their tyranny of disarming the American people by way of gun confiscation.

“Bloomberg helped found Everytown for Gun Safety in 2014 to “end gun violence and counter the Washington gun lobby.” The group put its focus beyond Congress, to bring attention to state elections and corporate boards, “fields of play formerly occupied almost solely by the gun lobby.” Bloomberg has pledged to spend at least $50 million to support the cause. The group now has 350,000 financial backers, though Bloomberg remains a major contributor.

The group’s influence has seeped into corporate boardrooms, too. The Virginia election came after a number of executives came out in favor of gun reform, amid Everytown’s advocacy and a steady stream of mass shootings.

Walmart in September said it will discontinue all sales of handgun ammunition and sales of short-barrel rifle ammunition that can be used with military-style weapons, following two “horrific” shootings at Walmart stores this summer.”

Hey Texans, this is what we are facing, and it will not be long before the gun control tyrants show up pressuring businesses and corporations in the Lone Star State. I plan on indeed making this an issue and any person running in Texas to disarm Texans will find themselves the victim of resounding defeat in 365 days!

Just remember, per year, more unborn babies are murdered in the womb, than people killed by gun violence. And, if we were to remove cities like Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Memphis, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Dallas, and other major leftist controlled cities from the calculations of gun violence, there would hardly be any in our America. These are the cities controlled by the left, where there are already stringent gun control laws . . . anti-constitutional.

TEXANS: The Challenge Has Been Issued

This missive will be a short and to the point, and a clarion call to constitutional conservatives in Texas. In the military they teach us to build our battle plans around the enemy’s most dangerous COA – – course of action. The great thing about the progressive socialist left is that we do not have to guess what their COA is, and their intent. They are now so emboldened that they willingly say so.

As reported in The Hill:

“Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tom Perez on Wednesday declared Texas a battleground state and said the national party intends to compete there in 2020, from the presidential level on down. “We strongly believe that Texas is a battleground,” Perez said at a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor, arguing that Trump’s rally in Dallas last month signals that the president is on the defensive in the Lone Star State.

“This president is underwater in Texas. The poll I saw him in a month ago has the generic Democrat ahead of the president in the general election by something like 5 points. (We shared a recent poll from this week where that has changed). That’s why he was there. It’s remarkable that this president has to spend time in states like Texas, and I think we can compete.”

Several surveys of Texas released this year have found Trump running neck and neck with the top Democratic White House hopefuls, although a Texas Tribune survey from October found Trump with a 5- point lead over the closest Democrat. Trump carried the traditionally red state by 9 points in 2016, which was the worst showing for a GOP presidential candidate in 20 years.”

The progressive socialist left is highly energized after their win in Virginia. Just think about it, the state that gave us our first Commanding General and president, author of the Declaration of Independence and third president, and author of our US Constitution is now run by progressive socialist leftists whose ideological agenda is antithetical to our fundamental and founding principles and values. I, for one, never want to hear the left talk about racism and #MeToo. Especially since they just gave control of the state to the party of “black face” and an alleged rapist.

And now, these delusional leftists have set their sights, and acclaimed that next year it is Texas for which they are focused. The left spent some $15M dollars to gain control of both chambers of the Virginia state legislature…amazing. They even elected a woman whose whole claim to fame was that she “flipped off” President Trump’s motorcade while riding her bicycle…for which she was fired from her job.

“Democrats are also eyeing power at the Texas state House, where they need to flip nine seats to claim a majority. “I think we have a real shot at taking over the House of Representatives there, in addition to competing in the federal races,” Perez said.

“Our partners at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, they already have a field office in Texas because they correctly believe, and I couldn’t agree with them more, there are six opportunities now. There could be more coming up because Texas is a remarkable potential opportunity.”

The Democratic gains in Texas have largely been driven by domestic migration. Drawn by Texas’s booming economy, hundreds of thousands of new voters have resettled there from more liberal states, such as California, New York and Illinois.

Many have settled in the suburbs, where Trump’s support is eroding, helping to make the metro areas around Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio some of the fastest growing in the country.

But changing demographics are also making Texas a bit more purple, and Perez said the party is heading into the state with an eye on Latino voters, noting that 800,000 more Latinos voted in 2018 than in 2014 and that Texas has 3.5 million eligible Latino voters who did not cast ballots in the past election.

“[Republicans] can’t compete on the merits for Latino votes, for African American votes, or Asian American votes, so they’re trying to make it harder for them to vote … that’s why we’re so invested in those communities,” Perez said.”

I have been talking about this for quite some time, most recently this week in pieces entitled, “We’re Outta Here.”

This battleground in which we find ourselves in Texas is not a mirage, it is real. And I am tired of those who dismiss this and say…well, Gov. Greg Abbott won overwhelmingly. Well, Gov. Abbott’s opponent was a serious chucklehead. And in that same election cycle with Gov. Abbott, last year, we saw 12 Texas State House seats lost, two Texas State Senate seats, 2 US Congressional seats, and 56 judge positions. Not to mention, this past Texas legislative session was not exactly one to write home to conservatives about.

The challenge has been issued, just like when the Mexican cavalry showed up at Gonzales Texas on October 2, 1835 demanding their cannon back. DNC Chairman Tom Perez is now demanding the State of Texas…and our response must be, mine certainly is, “Come and Take It,” Tommy boy.

Heck, I look forward to debating Perez next year sometime after the May Texas GOP State Convention in Houston.

“No Fear, Y’all!”

Fleeing Failed Blue States

Just this past Monday, I wrote a missive for CNS News entitled “We’re Outta Here” addressing the flight of people from failing Democrat (socialist) run states. Yes, many — including President Trump himself — are heading to the more fertile lands of economic growth, opportunity, and prosperity.

I often have conversations with our website administrator, Marie, who resides in the midnight blue of the San Francisco Bay Area of California. I keep telling her, the time is soon coming for her to say, “We’re Outta Here.” I think she is finally getting close to making that heroic decision.

Well, I wanted to take the time and highlight two awesome former Californians, now Texans, who made that courageous decision. Let’s be honest: there are some really stuck on stupid chuckleheads who are leaving these failed states, still embrace a failed progressive socialist philosophy of governance that forced their relocation. But, I have met many a good person who has uttered those famous words, “I wasn’t born here in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could.”

As reported by the LA Times:

“The Volkswagen SUV whizzed past the Texas state line, a U-Haul trailer in tow, as it made its way toward Amarillo.

“Yay!” Judy Stark cried out to her husband, Richard, as they officially left California. The pair bobbed their heads to ’50s music playing on the radio.

Like many other Republican and conservative voters in California, the retired couple have decided to leave the state. A major reason, Stark and her spouse say, is their disenchantment with deep-blue California’s liberal political culture. Despite spending most of their lives in the Golden State, they were fed up with high taxes, lukewarm support for local law enforcement, and policies they believe have thrown open the doors to illegal immigration.

Just over half of California’s registered voters have considered leaving the state, according to a UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll conducted for the Los Angeles Times. Republicans and conservative voters were nearly three times as likely as their Democratic or liberal counterparts to seriously have considered moving — 40% compared with 14%, the poll found. Conservatives mentioned taxes and California’s political culture as a reason for leaving more frequently than they cited the state’s soaring housing costs.

Stark and her husband decided it was time to put their Modesto home up for sale about six months ago. After doing some research online, she came across the website Conservative Move, which, as its name suggests, helps conservatives in California relocate from liberal states to redder ones, such as Texas and Idaho.

Pulled over at a Pilot truck stop just outside Amarillo, Stark said she was excited to be hours from their final destination, Collin County, near Dallas. The pair purchased a newly constructed three-bedroom home in McKinney for about $300,000. In much of California, Stark said, a similar home would run about twice as much. “We’re moving to redder pastures,” Stark, 71, said by phone. “We’re getting with people who believe in the same political agenda that we do: America first, Americans first, law and order.”

Welcome Judy and Richard Stark to the Lone Star State where individual freedom and liberty thrive . . . or so it will remain if conservatives have their way. Sadly, there are those who are doing just as Judy and Richard have done, but fail to comprehend the error of their ways. Again, let me state the obvious: it is astonishingly delusional to flee from one place because of its horrific policies, then seek to establish those same failures in the successful state into which one moves. I think Einstein’s definition of insanity is very fitting.

As I travel the state of Texas, I often tell folks that when they see that new U-Haul pull up into the neighborhood, you must engage. Show that nice Texas friendly smile and perhaps bring a nice pecan pie. Welcome the new neighbors, strike up a nice conversation, and then ask those two very important questions…why did you move to Texas? Why did you leave the place where you were living?

Judy and Richard knew the answer to that question, and good thing they escaped before Nancy Pelosi’s little deranged nephew, Governor Gavin Newsom, institutes an “exit tax.” Oh, don’t you go laughing at the ol’ Colonel now, because they have indeed been discussing just that . . . taxing people for leaving California. Remember we brought you the story of the leftist folly called a “Head Tax.”

Yes, regardless of what some people think, over the past ten years there has been a population explosion in Texas. And that explosion has brought about a demographic shift, not to mention the influx of illegal immigrants into Texas. Yes, there have been those like Judy and Richard, but there are also those who are coming to Texas and seeking to fundamentally transform this State. And what is very telling is that many are coming and concentrating on the major population centers and the surrounding suburbs, like McKinney, Texas. Collin County, once a venerable GOP stronghold, is now fighting to “stay red” as many new businesses, corporations, and people move into North Texas, and also into Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. The state of Texas can boast having three cities in the top ten in these United States of America for population size. Those cities are not run by those who favor Texas’ conservative ideals, policies, principles, and values. Quite to the contrary.

What the leftists do when they invade — yes, like locusts — they seek two elected offices, City Council and School Board. And, in Texas, we see that trend and its ramifications. Yes, there is a growing issue with young people in Texas embracing the imbecilic antics of someone like a Bob Frank O’Rourke, good riddance. That is happening because these leftists are taking over the schools and converting them into indoctrination centers, like my experience at Garland High School recently. These same major cities also have major colleges and universities co-located, and guess what type of governing philosophy is being advanced? Yes, all one has to do is drop by the University of Texas, and come to understand why Austin is being kept weird.

I want to go out on a limb and say something that is not all that far-fetched. What if all of this flight by progressive socialists from failing blue states to successful red states is all by design? Part of a grand national strategy, just as Eric Holder and Barack Obama are targeting the Texas State House to flip in order to gain control of the impending redistricting? A couple of weeks ago I wrote a piece about the GOP needing real long-range strategists, not just these daily data dinks and consultants who have not a clue. We need some serious Sun Tzu kinda thinkers who can interpret the Alinsky-ites and decipher their next move.

That’s how we are going to “Keep Texas Red” and in doing so, we keep our Constitutional Republic!

Statement on the Brutal Murder of the Miller-Langford Family by Cartel in Mexico

Our condolences go out to the slain American family members at the hands of Mexican drug cartels. Let’s see what the response will be from the party of the “manufactured crisis.”

Something tells me we aren’t going to hear much about American families who are permanently separated due to criminal illegal immigrants and drug cartels.

Texas is the number one state for human and sex trafficking. Progressive socialists who embrace open borders and decriminalizing illegal border crossing are complicit. The drug cartels are now freely operating on our side of the border, threatening, intimidating, and killing Americans.

Enough! These animals represent a clear and present danger to these United States of America.

Brian Kilmeade: Talking Texas With Allen West

LTC Allen West spoke with Brian Kilmeade about a few issues related to Texas politics: the demise of the O’Rourke campaign, and the number of seats, judgeships, etc. we lost in 2018, and how we might regain footing.

Election 2020: What We Must Keep in Mind

There is no doubt that the left has the Lone Star State in their sights in 2020. There have been pronouncements from Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi to the fact. Of course, they were emboldened by the November 2018 midterm elections here in Texas with the loss of 12 Texas State House seats, two Texas State Senate seats, two US Congressional seats (one of which is the district in which I reside), and 56 Judge positions.

There were some other very disconcerting results from a year ago, such as Senator Ted Cruz barely defeating Bob Frank O’Rourke — including Cruz not winning in the Tarrant County (Ft. Worth) area. Interestingly enough, there are those who are still dismissive of reports that the progressive socialist could win Texas, writing them off as a pipe dream. Not when they are so close to flipping the Texas State House!

[the_ad id=”6834″]

It really comes down to two factors. Having a good ground game . . . registering people to vote, is one. In Texas, we have 6.7M who are registered to vote who do not. We have 4.1M who are not even registered to vote!

The other critical factor is enthusiasm, energy, and that was something the left certainly had in November 2018. Voter energy is derived from inspiration, and if you have been following the results of the Texas 2019 legislative session and the travails of Texas House Speaker, Dennis Bonnen, we have an issue there with grassroots conservatives.

Now a poll has been released by the very left-leaning University of Texas, or Texas University to Texas A&M Aggies, in conjunction with the left-leaning Texas Tribune. The results are very interesting and potentially deceiving.

From the Texas Tribune:

“None of the top Democrats seeking the presidential nomination would beat President Donald Trump in Texas in an election held today — and neither would either of the Texas candidates in that race, according to the latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune Poll.

Joe Biden of Delaware, the former vice president, is running 7 percentage points behind Trump in Texas, as is U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts. U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont falls 5 percentage points short in a head-to-head with the president among Texas voters. And the two Texas candidates also lag behind Trump: former U.S. Rep. Beto [Bob Frank] O’Rourke of El Paso (who dropped out of the race Friday, after the poll was completed) by 6 percentage points, and former U.S. Housing Secretary and San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro by 13 percentage points.

In each matchup, significant numbers of Democrats are holding back their votes — possibly a sign that while they oppose the Republican incumbent, they favor a different Democrat. For instance, 89% of Republicans say they would support Trump over Biden, and 5% say they would favor Biden, leaving 6% unwilling to pick. But in the same race, 82% of Democrats favor Biden, and 4% favor Trump, leaving 14% who either like another Democrat more or don’t want to pick yet. The biggest gap was in the Trump-Castro matchup, where 93% of Republicans have a definite choice and only 71% of Democrats do.

“I don’t think this is a reflection of what’s going to happen in the election, but as we move from registered voters to likely voters in Texas, we tend to get more Republican [results],” said Joshua Blank, research director of the Texas Politics Project at UT-Austin.

While Trump is doing well against those Democrats in Texas, he’s not faring as well when voters are asked whether they will vote for his reelection. Slightly more than half say they “definitely” (46%) or “probably” (6%) will not vote for Trump in 2020. Meanwhile, 40% say they will “definitely” vote for the president’s reelection, and 8% “probably” will.

The University of Texas/Texas Tribune internet survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted from Oct. 18-27 and has an overall margin of error of +/- 2.83 percentage points, and an overall margin of error of +/- 4.21 percentage points for Democratic trial ballots. Numbers in charts might not add up to 100% because of rounding.”

There are those who may just see this poll and wrongly fall into a celebratory mode. I would advise against this. As a matter of fact, this poll should not even be considered.

First of all, I do not know the survey universe, and the region of Texas surveyed is critical. But, what does concern me is that President Trump is stuck between 45-47 percent in each of those head to head matchups. The goal is for that number to be 55-60 percent.

We need to do a much better job with Independents as they are a critical buffer to preclude the normal practices of progressive socialist voter fraud. Remember, one must win far outside of the “margin of cheating.”

It's imperative that we don't have voters who just pull the lever for Donald Trump and walk out of the voting booth. We must educate voters about keeping a strong conservative legislature & win back the losses from a year ago. Click To Tweet

As well, it is imperative that we do not have voters who just go in and pull the lever for Donald Trump and walk out of the voting booth. We must educate and inform Texas voters about the importance of keeping a strong Texas conservative legislature and win back the losses from a year ago.

When one considers all of the businesses and corporations that are moving into Texas, this poll should reflect much stronger numbers. Then again, it is early. However, Texas is a state with great economic growth, opportunity, and promise for all relocating from here, such as Toyota North America headquarters from California.

Also, we must do a much better job with young Texans on our college and university campuses, and those in our growing tech workforce. Texas is growing in information technology innovation, investment, and ingenuity. The policies of progressive socialism do not support that growth.

As a matter of fact, even Amazon is getting involved in local and city council elections in its home base, Seattle, after the move towards implementing a Head Tax . . . something we have shared with y’all previously. I would not be surprised if a city like Austin, Texas would seek to implement a like-minded tax within its city limits. After all, progressive socialist birds of a feather, promote failed policies together.

There is much work to do here in Texas in the next 52 weeks. Texas remains solid red, strong, in the areas outside of the major population centers. But, we must be laser-focused and strategic in targeting our message of economic empowerment, success, in those blue areas, population centers, and along the Rio Grande River Valley.

The election is a year away, time to git ‘er dun! Yes, again our rally cry here in Texas must again be, “Come and Take It!”
